The app and website provide estimates and general shopping guidance only. Tax rates and tax treatment can vary by country, region, locality, product, service and type of purchase.

No financial, tax, accounting or legal advice

Tax When Shopping does not provide financial advice, tax advice, accounting advice, legal advice or official guidance on what tax applies to a particular transaction.

User responsibility

You are responsible for checking the displayed price, receipt and current local tax rules, and for confirming which tax rate or treatment applies to a purchase.

Limits of estimation

Calculations depend on the values and tax rate you select. Real purchases may include reduced rates, zero rates, exemptions, local taxes, special product rules, rounding, fees, discounts, refunds or other charges that the app cannot detect.

Country guidance

Country information is deliberately simplified for practical shopping use. Tax systems can change and some countries have multiple national, regional or local taxes. The app does not attempt to reproduce complete tax legislation.

No warranty

While we aim to provide helpful calculations and guidance, we make no guarantees regarding accuracy, availability, completeness or reliability of any calculation, country guidance, percentage, tax treatment or total.

No liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Travel Tools & Tips and the creators of Tax When Shopping accept no liability for any loss, dispute, payment issue, incorrect tax amount, incorrect purchase total or other outcome arising from use of the app or website.

The website may link to third-party services including the Apple App Store, Google Play or the main Travel Tools & Tips site. We are not responsible for the content or policies of those services.
